THESE TWO CAPE VERDEIANS TRAVELED ALMOST 2,500,000 KILOMETERS JUST TO SEE FLAMENGO AT THE CLUB WORLD CUP

Nuno and Pedro left the city of Praia bound for Tangiers with great expectations: Flamengo fans predicted that the “Rubra-Negra”, South American champion, would beat Al-Hilal in the semi-finals and then face Real Madrid in the Club World Cup final, scheduled for Saturday in the Moroccan city. But not.

Nuno and Pedro were one of the thousands of Flamengo supporters who this Tuesday at Tangier Stadium saw the Brazilian team fall in the semi-finals after being defeated 3-2 by Al-Hilal.

Nuno, in the red-and-black jersey, has been a Flamengo fan since 2001, when he arrived in Brazil to study Biological Sciences at the Santa Úrsula University, in Laranjeiras, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

Flamengo/Vasco was his first game and since then he has joined the “biggest crowd in the world”, surrendering to the magic of Flamengo football.

Nuno traveled from Praia to Tangier accompanied by his friend Pedro, also Cape Verdean and a supporter of the Brazilian team. Both want, together with a group of Cape Verdeans who studied in Brazil, to found the Flamengo embassy in Cape Verde.
